The Story

US studies show that 60% of preventable combat deaths are caused by severe hemorrhage of extremities, 33% - by tension pneumothorax and 6% - by airway obstruction.

The experience of the conflict in Eastern Ukraine shows that dozens of lives could have been saved and hundreds of permanent disablities prevented had the soldiers possessed modern tactical emergency supplies and proper training in how to use them in the field.

This fundraiser is ran by Leleka Foundation with our Ukrainian partners, GO Patriot, Saving Lives in Ukraine, National Home Front and others, to supply improved first aid kits to military units of Ukrainian army which are fighting against terrorism in Eastern Ukraine. Those admirable men and women desperately need your help to survive.

In the last few months,  volunteers and civilians have already supplied hundreds of blood clotting agents and bandage dressings to different military units. However, the reality is that a soldier MUST have a comprehensive first aid kit to treat most common battlefield traumas adequately.

The IFAK increases individual soldier capabilities to provide Self-Aid/Buddy-Aid and provides interventions for two leading causes of death on the battlefield: severe hemorrhage and inadequate airway. These capabilities increase soldier survivability during dispersed operations. These capabilities can SAVE LIVES of our soldiers.

Our current goal is to supply as many IFAKs as possible to Ukrainian military units. Our army needs thousands of IFAKs.
Estimated cost of one IFAK is as follows:

We have now raised $5750 - more than a half of our First Aid Kit fundraiser goal of 100 kits. We have purchased and delivered 100 Celox Rapid Gauzes and 100 Halo chest seals, which are part of these kits, to our partners in Ukrain

Unfortunately, in recent days the situation in Eastern Ukraine has been getting worse. The insurgents have intensified their attacks. You have probably heard about about the tragic attack on the civilian bus in Volnovakha. We mourn with the families of the innocent victims and we are trying to do what we can to make it stop.

Fighting has heated up elsewhere as well, and first aid kits, along with other basic necessities, remain in short supply. The volunteer movement in Ukraine is doing miraculous work every day to help both soldiers and civilians. We hope to share the stories of some of these remarkable people with you soon. We are hearing from the Ukrainian volunteers that money is tight and that they hope for and count on the support of our diaspora and other friends from abroad.

We still need your help! Please share, like, tell your friends, and donate. We accept donations: on our fundraiser page, by paypal, or by check at
