You can help the shelter that saved Reeves, paid for his surgeries and intensive medical care and got him to us.
Animal welfare has a long way to go in China. Along with other cutural factors, the dog meat industry makes saving dogs an uphill battle for activists. These wonderful people are very dedicated, but have little in the way of a support system. Let's change that!
The Jinan Yellow River Rescuing Center for Stray dogs runs on what it can get from generous locals and often makes up the difference out of the volunteers' and boards' pockets. Caring for 230+ dogs isn't cheap, especially when many of them have special needs or are injured (as is often the case with rescue dogs here).
Happier, healthier dogs are easier to rehome. We can help these dogs achieve their dreams of family life.
Here's a rundown of monthly costs for the shelter (keep in mind that the minimum wage in Shandong, China is $225/month) :
Staff Wages: $440/month
Vet Expenses: $35 each transport, $170-$340 each visit
Other (mats, supplies, etc.): $500/month
Here's how you can help!
-Spread the word! Pass this fundraiser or the WanderlustandWayfare post along on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.
$30(180 RMB) sponsors one dog for an entire month
$100(600 RMB) gets one rescued dog settled in the shelter and sponsors them for a month
$200(1200 RMB) sponsors one injured or special needs dog for a month (this includes the cost of their initial medical care)
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Our community does amazing things. Let's ensure that the lives of these recued dogs is wonderful and that they can stay safe, happy and well fed while they wait for their forever homes.
