The Story

Camp Quest Texas works hard throughout the year to making their Summer Camp a fun and educational experience, allowing campers to grow. They host philosophy discussions (like Socrates Café) where they encourage campers to continuously ask while formulating their own opinions. It's a Summer Camp that teaches campers how to think, not what to think.

Counselors and other volunteers work hands-on with campers in conducting science experiments, fostering language development, and cultivating a zeal for natural discovery. By encouraging campers to examine and question the natural world around them, they aim to build upon their knowledge and equip them with critical thinking skills that will be applicable long after camp ends.

Of course, the primary goal of Camp Quest Texas is to provide campers with a haven away from home where they can find new and old friends. They also make fun a high priority, with swimming, hiking, races, and games all being part of the Summer Camp experience.

While Camp Quest Texas prepares for this year's Summer Camp, they are also receiving many pleas for financial assistance from deserving families. Many come from families who live in remote rural communities, where the only contact with other freethinking kids would come from their Summer Camp. Although they try to accomodate as many requests as possible, the need is too great, and their funding is limited.

This is where you come in. By donating on my behalf to Camp Quest Texas, you will help provide an opportunity for a camper to experience a week without fear of religious judgment, without the social isolation, and without the stigma of being a nonbeliever in the Bible Belt. As one mother put it, when she came to Camp Quest Texas, "my daughter felt like she could breathe for the first time."

A GREAT BIG THANKS to everyone who donated, Facebooked, Tweeted, Emailed, and Shared our fundraising campaign! We've hit our goal with room to spare, beating Seth and keeping the bragging rights here in Texas where they belong! Camp Quest Texas is an important part of the freethought landscape here in the Lone Star State, and your support means that they can continue to provide top-notch programming that can't be found anywhere else in Texas.

We'll see you again next year!

To all those screaming to get Aron Ra back on Dogma Debate to face off with a Christian: I'll make this deal with you. With only 6 days left, we are $884 away from reaching our $5,000 goal for Camp Quest. If we reach that goal, we beat Seth Andrews in this fundraiser! My promise is, if we reach that goal by Wednesday morning, or beat Seth before then, I'll bring Aron on Dogma Debate this week, and give him 2 full 20-minute segmentsto face off with our in-studio guest, Blake, who claims to have evidence of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
If you want Aron on Dogma Debate - prove it right here!

All right, we're moving now! We've blown past the first $1000 milestone, and we're well on our way to $2000, and catching up with Seth. The small donations are definitely making a difference, all you 4th Listeners donating $4 or more are awesome! Keep it up!

You guys are awesome! We're getting donations from all over the United States, and as far away as Europe! We still have a ways to go before we hit that first $1000 milestone, please dig deep, share this link, and tell your friends about Camp Quest Texas. There's nothing else like it in the Lone Star State, and we need it to stay healthy and strong for years to come!

Thanks to everyone who has donated so far, but we still have a long way to go! Please spread the word on Facebook and Twitter and anywhere else you know of people who care about Camp Quest's mission to provide a unique summer camp experience for the children of freethinking families everywhere!
