On January 3, 2013 we lost a truly remarkable woman who taught young people to that in life if you work hard and believe in yourself any goal or dream is possible. Christine Holcombe touched so many of ourlives with her energy, tenacious spirit and her pizazz. She had a unique way of “asking” young people to volunteer their time because we were all “investing in our future,” and in the end we all realized we became better people for putting forth the extra effort. Christine’s encouragement to the youth in Milam County over her 30 year career working with children led to $4 million worth of college scholarships being awarded to the lives she touched—what an amazing accomplishment for a county with a population of less than 25,000 people. Her work lives through those children because those “children” are now adults, leaders in their own communities around Texas and around the countryhelping build confidence and self-esteem to our future leaders. Please donate so we can carry on Christine's work by providing scholarships. Every dollar counts no matter how small.
