The Story

**For UPDATES on Wyatt please visit Wyatt’s Blog**
(Wyatt's blog was created and is updated by Amy Miville - Wyatt's amazing Mom - the blog is also where Amy is thanking everyone for their support and generosity.)

After Wyatt’s birth, he spent the next two weeks in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and then an additional two months in Complex Care at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO).  After almost a year and many emergency trips and admissions to CHEO there is still no definitive diagnosis with prognosis for Wyatt.

We are all so eager to help Wyatt, yet with no way of knowing how to treat him our hope is that together we may ease a small bit of the stress and burden on Wyatt's parents, Amy and Andrew.

We want to allow Amy and Andrew the opportunity to focus their love and attention on all three of their children- Aila, Jude and Wyatt. We would like to relieve some of the added financial stress created through Wyatt’s ongoing complex care.

With your generous donations we hope to:

- Assist with excess medical bills that are not covered through insurance;

- Provide respite care to offer both Amy and Andrew the occasional well-deserved break;

- Provide occasional house cleaning services to relieve this burden from Amy and Andrew;

- Finally, help with the financial burden of caring for the entire family- Amy is unable to return to work after her maternity leave because of the specialized care and time that Wyatt requires from her at home andwith his many stays in the hospital.

Please support Wyatt and his family as they care for him and as they seek and undergo treatment.

If you would like to donate by cheque instead of donating online, please use the "Contact the Organizer" button below for information.

We also ask that you please SHAREWyatt's site with everyone you know.  Our hope is that someone will read his story and will be able to offer a solution to Wyatt’s condition. http://www.whatswrongwithwyatt.com

THANK YOU!  We are incredibly grateful for your support, your kindness and your generosity.

Here is a link to a CBC story about Wyatt:

  • fournir des soins de relève pour permettre à Amy et à Andrew une pause bien mérité à l’occasion;
  • fournir un service de nettoyage à la maison pour éliminer ce fardeau des parents de Wyatt;

Fundraiser Updates

Since our last update, much has happened with little Wyatt.  He has begun to do a lot of normal 22 month old things, like finally began to walk, and go up and down stairs.  He's actually displaying curiosity by investigating mom's vegetable propagators (yeah...there is dirt everywhere) and looking into the kitchen cabinets. He is also signing to communicate his needs.  Wyatt knows more signs than his dad does!

On a more somber note, Wyatt had a severe chocking episode in early April, and had to be intubated.  This led to a MRI, CT and eye exam...all of which came out normal.  His genetic testings have all come out normal so far, and our next step is to do mitochondrial DNA testing.  Here's hoping we'll find out something!

Check out Wyatt's blog for more details, including the day we almost lost him to a piece of a toy.  http://www.whatswrongwithwyatt.com/#!blogger-feed/c1460

Although we received the gift a month ago, I wanted to make sure Chris and Kristy got a thank you through the site!  They sent us a huge gift through the mail that included books, bath tub toys and a fluffy towel. Wyatt has a full stacking cup set (!) - we owned a full set in 2009, and with every passing year the set has now dwindled to two cups.  So thank you!!

Wyatt loves the water tower (and so do our two other children) and the ABC book is just wonderful.  Wyatt loves turning pages to books, and that book is perfect for his little hands.  Your thoughtfulness is heart warming and truly appreciated.

Much love,
Wyatt & Co.
