Posted on July 23, 2013On Sunday, 21st July, at 2:30pm, Seka passed away.
After almost one year, of far too much suffering, her final hour at least was more peaceful. At home surrounded by her family and friends, held tightly by her indescribably wonderful sister Eugenia, and the rest of us at her hands and feet. Love so immense that could not be bound within the walls of her room. Her last and strongest efforts were to say goodbye and to have one final physical contact with her nephews and nieces, all of whom she adored more than her own last breath.
Our Sekita is at last at rest, and I, her broken husband, am so proud, and full, to have loved and to have been loved, by one of this sad world`s greatest persons. She was, is, and forever will be: Love.

Posted on June 28, 2013Sad to report that Seka continues to lose weight, last count she had dropped to 74 lbs (33 kgs/ just over 5 stone) Also, today she has been admitted into hospital again with pneumonia. She is fighting this thing, but has very little strength. One plus it seems, is that while in hospital (for at least a week we are told) they hope to augment her weight.
With much love and gratitude,
Darren and all my family here in El Salvador

Posted on April 29, 2013Seka and I continue to be amazed and eternally grateful for all the wonderful support that we have received throughout this painful period. We wish to thank you all.
The total amount on this fundraiser now stands at $6,272. Adding to that, money which we have received directly from friends and family in the area, the total figure is $10,762. A truly amazing amount, and far more than we could ever have dreamt back around christmas time, when our excellent friend Kelli set this fundraiser up for us. Without her, and without all of you, and at the risk of sounding melodramatic, we could never have achieved what we have. Again, a million thanks to you all.
Seka is slowly regaining her health and strength. She still only weighs just over 80lbs, but there is hope. She is still on liquid foods only, but with that, trying to eat at least a small amount every 2 hours.
Abrazos y besos a todos, muchisimas gracias, you have given us both new life.
Seka y Darren xxx
