Paula Holden was hit by an 18 year old drunk driver on September 1, 2012. This fund will assist with her medical bills and recovery.
Everyone who knows Paula knows she is an advocate against drunk driving. She is a single mother of one daughter who is in college.
Paula was trapped in her car for over an hour while firefighters worked to free her legs. Paula suffered compound fractures to all of her limbs. Her left femur and both arms have been repaired with plates and screws. Her right leg was badly crushed in the accident. She has had 6 surgeries to date to repair her limbs and lengthened her right leg. Paula will need multiple surgeries to repair her right leg once the wounds heal over the next 6 months.
Paula recently moved to Georgia from Texas to be closer to family. She was looking for work and did not have medical insurance when the accident happened. Her medical expenses could reach 1 million dollars.
We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
Because so many people have asked how they can help Paula and her family, we have established this website. In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations through this site to help offset medical and recovery costs.
Paula had surgery on her right foot today to begin to put it back together. She also had muscle and skin graft today to close one of the 2 wounds on her right leg.
