Biscuit is a friendly 5 year old Chihuahua mix who came to us from a sanctuary where the roof was falling over, the living conditions were horrific, and many dogs (35 plus) were left without medical care. When Biscuit arrived to our rescue group he shortly developed a lump on the side of his cheek. It was Christmas Eve and not much that we could do. I originally thought that it was due to his eye, because he has a scratch on it. I took him to Seneca Animal Hospital for an evaluation. They said that the scratch was an old injury and that it was most likely an infection. I explained that I was worried because blood and puss was oozing out of his cheek. They gave me amoxicillin and said that it should heal up fairly quickly. My worries started to go away after a couple of days. The lump started to go down and he was feeling much better. We able to get him neutered a couple of weeks later and then into a foster home. He is still there while he looks for a forever home! Biscuit now enjoys sleeping in bed at night, lounging on the couch (his fav place by the way), and getting lots of attention! The total Vet costs came to $136.00. It doesn't seem like much but when you add up all of the medical costs of the chihuahua's we saved, it adds up quickly. We appreciate every ones emotional and financial support!
