Belinda is a dear friend of mine, much more like a sister. She is the mother to two beautiful and sweet teenagers, one boy and one girl and the wife to a husband who works endlessly to support her family during this time of need.
Please continue reading so you can understand the extent of the disease and the upcoming surgery that Belinda is preparing for.
We ask that you consider donating $1 or perhaps dumping out the piggy banks of pennies you never use. If nothing else, please SHARE on social media so we can raise awareness of this fundraiser.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the donations received thus far, as well as the efforts made to share.
Without further adieu, please read on!

Our dear friend Belinda has Chiari One Malformation (a rare genetic disease), High Pressure, Psoriatic Arthritis, P.O.T.S., Empty Sella Syndrome, Neurogenic Bladder Dysfunction, Scoliosis and Cervical Stenosis.
Chiari (pronounced key-AR-ee) Malformation is a rare condition in which the lower part of the brain, called the cerebellum, herniates through the skull and down into the spinal canal. The herniated tissue compresses the brainstem, spinal cord and cranial nerves along with blocking the normal flow of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). The blockage can then cause a buildup of fluid in the spinal cord (syringomyelia) or in the brain (hydrocephalus) along with high pressure (intracranial hypertension). Symptoms include headache, neck pain, dizziness, arm numbness or weakness, sleep problems, fatigue, etc.
Her case is complex and it took 2.5 years of searching and praying to find a Specialist capable of operating. In addition, this is a rare disease and having a knowledgeable expert perform the brain surgery is critical. A date has been set for Posterior Fossa Decompression Brain Surgery and this Brain Surgeon is located out of state which will cause Belinda and her family to incur traveling, lodging and food expenses. If all goes well, she should spend 4-6 nights in the Hospital followed by at least a 10 day stay in town before being discharged to travel back home.
Rather than automatically shunting Belinda for High Intracranial Pressure at the time of surgery, Her Surgeon is going to allow her body the opportunity to restore the natural flow of Cerebral Spinal Fluid on it's own post decompression. Should the high pressure continue and not be absorbed, she will be admitted for a second brain surgery to place a VP Shunt. The shunt will reroute the extra fluid from Belinda's brain to her abdomen.
Six months from the last of the surgeries above, she will be traveling once again and admitted for a Cervical Surgery. This will consist of a full decompression from the rear and a combination of artificial disc replacements, fusions, bone grafts and rods from the front.
Recent complications including spinal fluid gushing from her nose and visits to the Hospital make this Surgery very urgent. We ask that you prayerfully consider giving. We are so grateful for your donations, prayers, love and support.
