The Story

On April 25, 2015 a 7.9 Richter scale earthquake struck Kathmandu, Nepal.  The earthquake is the largest on record in the world since 1900 and has, at this hour, killed more than 1400 people, displaced many more and left a very poor, close knit nation in desperate need for outside help.

I have many friends in Nepal and a very close friend (Ingvill), who was on a Mount Everest expedition at the time of the earthquake.  I have heard from some, while others I have not.  For certain, I know that help is needed and assuming she is all right, I know that my dear friend Ingvill will move heaven and earth to help those in Nepal on the most local, direct means possible.  (I am starting this fundraiser having not yet heard from Ingvill... but I have reached out to my local Nepalese friends, and I know they will help in this effort too.)

Often times on the news in the West we hear and see a far off place that needs relief and we donate to the Red Cross.  This time, I would please encourage you to donate to a cause where all of the proceeds will be donated to directly help those in need.  In a nation where most survive on $1 USD a day, every dollar that reaches Nepal will truly help its people.

Nepal and its people hold a very close place in my heart.  Thank you for your time, consideration, donation and continued thoughts and prayers for the beautiful people of Nepal.

Love,
C.J.

Friends,
I have added a new video to our fundraising page that Ingvill has provided us from the Dhading region, which lies in close proximity to the epicenter of the April 27th earthquake.  I encourage you to check it out as well as Ingvill's latest inspirational post from Nepal on LiveALifeInMotion.com in which she reflects on her time in Nepal, ties it to Western living and how we can live a fuller life. A great article!

Be sure to check out the ways in which you can help us to help those in need in rural Nepal at the bottom of her article. With your support, we will change lives on a personal level.  I look forward to being with you along the journey ahead.

Love,
C.J.

Friends,
I have just posted an update from my dear friend, Ingvill, who is currently in Nepal and with whom I am fortunate to be working on our project to rebuild Nepal.

Ingvill and I have been working over the last few weeks to formulate a plan by which we can be most effective in Nepal.  We will soon be meeting with our contacts who were active in their respective communities prior to the natural disaster and developing a plan to effectively rebuild the rural areas, which were the most effected areas by the earthquake(s) on and after April 27th.  It is our goal to focus on the long-term rebuilding of the country that we both love so deeply.

As Nepal continues to be shook by subsequent earthquakes with the coming monsoon season fast approaching, we hold all of our loved ones in Nepal close to our heart.  We will be communicating any vital news regarding Nepal as well as, of course, any updates on our project.

Thank you for your generous support.  Ingvill and I look forward to showing you all of the positive outcomes that your warm hearts have entrusted us with.

BIG HUG!
C.J.
