Posted on September 11, 2013First, i have to say this........I am blown away at everyone's kindness, generosity, encouragement, support, love, words of understanding, and willingness to help spread the word. I was so afraid to do this. I was embarrassed. And thank goodness, I have received some of the nicest messages along with the support along the way. I just can't express the depths of my gratitude. THANK YOU!!!!!!
Secondly, I am preparing for my first test in Pediatrics. I have reviewed all notes, lectures, power points and study guides. I have a bit more to do for my test on Thursday and hope to be atopographic post my results by Friday. I had a quiz in Psych and a group assignment so far... 2 A's!! A 90 and a 94!!!!! Also, this weekend I will be working 2 12hour shifts for my acute care Pediatric Clinical rotation at Egelston - Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. I am so excited!!!!!!!! I can't wait!
I hope you have had the experience of knowing you are EXACTLY where you are supposed to be. That is how I feel at the end of class or clinical. I am so thankful for my friends and family, my friends families and their friends!!!! I wouldn't be here without you. And Rebecca Batchelder Jenkins!!!!!! You have no idea what she has done for me. I am the luckiest person, just for having her in my corner.
She told me a long time ago, when all I could say is I wanted to become an R.N. but I had no idea how I would ever pull it off...... She would tell me.."If everyday you get up, you take a step in the direction off your dreams, One day, you WILL get there." She was right!!!!
Again, THANK YOU!!!!!

Posted on August 23, 2013So, my first week of 3rd semester is complete, and I LOVE being in nursing school! I am taking Psychiatric Nursing, Pediatrics and Obstetrics. I have received my clinical information and I will be doing my Peds (/peeds/ Nurse talk for pediatric) rotation at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta in September! I can't wait! Psych clinicals are in December for me. I had my mandatory math test today and made the required 100%. And I had a 4 hour lab today going over skills from semesters 1 & 2 (IV push, Foley catheter insertion and removal, Vital Signs, IM injections, Subcutaneous injections, and a few more) TODAY WAS AWESOME!!! I am so very deeply grateful to all that have contributed to helping me achieve my goal. I am so thankful for my friend Rebecca overseeing this. I love becoming a nurse! I can hardly wait..... 9 months. May 2nd, 2014 is what I believe.
I AM GOING TO BE A R.N.!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!
