Posted on February 14, 2014Finally, time to update and thank everyone who helped us take care of Levi.
Levi came home Tuesday via a long and challenging trip. I think we proved that we will, "climb the highest mountain" for that guy. He's so worth it.
The surgery was more difficult because of hie prior surgeries for bladder stones but Dr. Davis and Dr. Secor from New England Equine Surgical and Medical Center did a wonderful job of it! Poor Levi is walking through one more, hopefully, last, recovery period. Beth McCauslan took the first shift handwalking him on his first morning home. Thank you, Beth. We were beat after getting home at midnight the night before.
Levi has quite a bit of swelling/edema but that will work itself out. Other than that, he's doing very, very well. We'll hand walk him for a few weeks. If all goes as planned Anna should be able get back on for light work around the first of April.
We could not have done this without the love and support of everyone who has contributed. Our bill came in at a bit over $4800 plus travel, including an extra $220 for truck rental when our truck broke down the morning we were leaving to pick Levi up. Any additional contributions will be greatly appreciated. We will honor your help by paying it forward when the next opportunity presents itself.

Posted on February 10, 2014As these things go, Levi's bill has reached $4600. With the trailering cost, we're over $5000. We really need some help with the last $2000. Thank you.

Posted on February 5, 2014Levi is in surgery now. He's doing well. We get to sit right outside the operating room and watch. Very cool.
