The Story

Meet Rumi, Rumi was found in the woods as a pup huddled against a tree with his brother in a rural area. The man who found them isolated both pups in a 10 by 10 kennel for the next 16 months. He rarely fed them and he failed to socialize them with other dogs or people. This manifested into extreme fear of people. He ended up surrendering them to a shelter and the man’s story sadly sealed their fate as they were both wrongfully labeled as wolf hybrids. They were so sick and emaciated, Rumi’s littermate was found dead in the kennel the very next day. In order to prevent Rumi from being euthanized the shelter petitioned for adoption by a professional trainer and/or a Rescue. Well luckily for Rumi he had the backing from what we thought was a reputable Rescue. Sadly, this Rescue backed out after Rumi was safely in the hands of his wonderful volunteer now foster mom. This unfortunate chain of events left the volunteer with all the responsibility of providing for his care and the vet bills. Rumi has been diagnosed with sarcoptic and demodectic mange, worms, coccidiosis & kennel cough. He is also emaciated and needs groceries, he needs to be neutered as well as given several months of frontline and heartguard preventatives and a microchip. Now some of the fosters dog appears to be showing signs of kennel cough, could be from the vacine, but now we have to treat these dogs also.  We are a group of volunteers who are hopeful that we can raise the funds to provide for all the care Rumi is going to require. His foster mom has lovingly worked with him socially and has the support of a professional trainer and he is already making progress. If you can find ROOM in your heart to share his story and/or donate to his cause, we can save him and provide rehab!  Any funds left over after the treamtment of Rumi & the other dogs will be donated to various reputable rescues - no $ will go unused!

Fundraiser Updates

Just wanted to let folks know that Rumi is doing better with each & every day.  We recently tried introducing him to some new people, and he shut down & acting terrified.  He is a work in progress, so our hopes to have him re-homed by this time have had to be pushed out a little further. So at this time we are still raising money for his upkeep if you'd like to donate.  Saving a dog's life has no time limits, it can take countless hours to repair what someone else did to them in mere seconds.

Well wishes~

Rumi is making progrss each & every day :)  He is putting on the much needed weight, learning all kinds of commands and is about to learn to be a social butterfly.  This poor guy led an awful life before he was saved by his support team that each day just makes us smile bigger & longer. We would not have been able to do this without support from our friends & Rumi's follwers.  We are now up to $270 in donations, but we still have a way to go to cover his expenses.  Any amount, no matter how small is GREATLY appreciated.  It takes a pack to save a dog, so please come and be a part of Rumi's pack today!

Thank you~

We are have rasied $250 to date (the system only shows online donations) for Rumi, but we still need to raise more.  As you can see by the newly added photos he is putting on some much needed weight and is really responding to training.  He is a very smart boy, and anxious to please.  He still has a way to go, but when he is ready for adoption you'll want to be first in line.

Thank you~

Funds are slowly staring to come in, and we could not be more thankful for your help!  Please keep the message out there, we just need to cover his medical costs.  And please remember, we will be looking for a forever home for him in the future.
