The wild horses who roam our federal lands in the American West are rapidly being rounded up by helicopters, traps, and other means by the US Bureau of Land Management and the US Forest Service. These agencies are conducing this massive wild horse removal campaign with heavy pressure from the livestock, energy extraction, mining, big game hunting and other industries who for some reason perceive the wild horses intruding on their profits. Anti-wild horse groups are conducting a large-scale public relations campaign in which they make a series of false assertions about the wild horses. This appears to be designed to somehow justify the BLM's and the USFS' wild horse removal campaign to prevent public outrage of these actions.
I am a wildlife ecologist and have spent several years researching and writing a book which utilizes science to show the tremendous value of the wild horses and burros and debunks the false assertions that the anti-wild horse groups are using to lobby public officials and the American public of the purported need for this wild horse and burro removal campaign. The book is a blend between science and the politics behind the well-coordinated effort to remove the wild horses and burros from our federal lands before the broader American public knows what has happened and what they have lost forever.
The book's message is a very convincing one. It is 313 pages long and has some excellent photos as well as graphs and charts that should convince the most stubborn of wild horse detractors. It is of vital importance that this eloquent message be read by leading government officials, politicians and media people and right away, for the sake of the horses and their rightful land and freedom.
These roundups are occurring at such a rapid rate that if it is not stopped soon, the herds will no longer be biologically viable, and generations of Americans will no longer be able to visit our public lands and see wild horses roaming in the wild!
So it is critical that the message contained in this book get out to the American public fast enough to stop these merciless and misguided roundups before it is too late. They have so much to contribute to restoring harmony and vitality to the world, but it is we humans who must give them the chance.
Your donations will allow my organization to send my well-rounded and well-founded book The Wild Horse Conspiracy to key decision makers and others who have the power to stop these roundups. It defends the wild horse's place in America and explains why indeed count among the most deeply native of species here and contribute in many positive ways to ecosystems to which they are suited, which are many. Thank you so much for your compassion and for your great foresight in helping us preserve and protect America's precious wild mustangs!
