Hi, my name is Natalie and I am 9 years old. I am from San Antonio, TX. I like music, singing, dancing and I LOVE to bowl! I started bowling league when I was 5 years old, I bowl at Oak Hills Lanes. Both of my parents, one of my grandfathers, one of my grandmothers bowl, so do my uncles. I guess you could say it's a family affair!
I don't understand why more kids don't bowl in league. There are so many new friends to be made and so much fun to be had. Maybe they just don't know about it. I have already won over $300 in scholarships that I am going to use when I go to college. at Texas A&M University.
After talking about it with my family, we decided that this summer I would try to bowl in 48 states (Mom says we will have to see how things pan out if we want to think about adding Hawaii and Alaska).
My dad said that maybe along the way I could drum up some sponsorship and raise some money for a good cause. I thought that was a super cool idea but it took me a long time to figure out where I wanted that money to go. Then, I had a brilliant idea! A YOUTH BOWLING SCHOLARSHIP! What better thing to do with any monies raised than help someone go to college? So, I want to sell each state I bowl in for $10 (more if you think the state is worth it) and I hope to raise almost $500 to donate back to my youth league to use as scholarship money.
