The Story

In February Dave was diagnosed with Adrenal Cortical Carcinoma, stage IV. This is a rare aggressive cancer.

In the last conversation with the oncologist at Travis AFB, Dave found out that the cancer has spread heavily throughout his body, including liver and lungs. The doctor’s prognosis is 6 to 12 months, depending on how the second stage of treatment goes.

Dave will begin treatment Monday June 3rd. It will be for four days in a row then he will have three weeks off each month. Dave plans on doing as much as he can with family and friends during those weeks he will not be in treatment.  This fund is to allow him the freedom and extra money to make the most of those weeks.  The donations go straight into Whitney and Dave's paypal account as soon as it is donated. I setup this fund so people can show support financially without Dave and Whitney having to feel like they are asking for money.

Fundraiser Updates

Thanks to everyone who has donated to the fund. Dave and Whit have expressed how much everyone's love and support means to them.  I think it is awesome we have so quickly reached the goal of $5,000!  We can go over the goal amount and may even raise the goal.  Once again I wanted to say a thank you and give a virtual high-five to everyone who has donated and spread this page.

Hello all!

First off I want to thank everyone for their love and amazing support over the last couple months! Your donations, thoughts, and prayers have meant more than you know.

All the donations are being saved for now until Dave decides where he wants to go. We have to be careful where we chose due to health care and hospital statuses. Right now Dave is leaning towards Maui. So he can just rest on the beach and enjoy a nice hotel.
Dave never asked for help or money but the support of friends have shown has touched him deeply and he couldn't ask for better people to surround him with love and support during this height of trial and tribulations.
Words aren't enough to express our gratitude but I will try my best to do so over this time.
We had a day trip to Temecula to view some wine country. We originally had a hot air balloon ride scheduled but decided not to do too much and head back home. The simple day trip was delightful though. We had some laughs and enjoyed being a married couple!
I have been updating medical statuses on CaringBridge.com if you would like to read in more detail. We love and appreciate you all and will keep you posted of things to come.
