The Story

I have a daily devotional blog that I started in April 2014 (www.abidinginthevine.net).  Prior to going online with my blog I would write my own comments on a daily devotional email that I would forward to some friends.  Since I started writing these daily devotionals several months ago I have been very blessed by God with His goodness and mercy in that He has revealed to me many things to share with folks about how He is in our every-day life.  God speaks to me throughout the day about topics and things to add to the book.  Let me just stop here and say I AM BLOWN AWAY by all of this!  I have never realized this gift of writing until the last 8 months or so.  I will add that my devotionals are not like your average devotionals…  at least I don’t think so.  I love how God has given me the ability to see Him in even my front yard (I wrote a devotional entitled Green Lawn or TARR). He amazes me every day!  I keep a tablet and pencil handy to write down the things I hear in my heart all day long.  God is so good!

Sometime back a few friends mentioned to me that I might want to consider writing a book.  After some discussion, I told them I would pray about it and see where God leads.  Well, I began to have confirmation after confirmation that truly pointed to me writing a devotional book.  I was led to a Publisher and the lady there helped me understand a little about their services.  It is a company that helps you Self-Publish and they partner with you to help you along the way.  It’s a good thing because I know nothing about publishing a book.  I just know how to write what God has laid on my heart to share with whomever will read it.

It’s exciting to know that I will have a book published one day.  However it is not a free process.  It can be as expensive as I want to make it but the goal here is a middle of the road goal.  This amount will cover all of the costs from now until my book is in the stores and on the shelves and everything in between.  “In Between” includes an artist to helps with cover art, that is on staff at the publisher along with other staff to help me have a most successful launch of my book.

The reason I am using a Fund Raiser Site is because I work in a low paying job and I also take care of my elderly parents and I do not have the funds to begin the publishing process.  I believe God has blessed me to write and a good brain to know what process and resources to help this process along.

Thank You so much for your support and remember even $5.00 will help.  If you cannot donate please pray with me for my success in this endeavor.  Leave me a message on here to let me know you are praying for me.  I also am offering a free, signed copy of my first devotional book to the first 10 people that donate $10.00 or more.  The title of the book is going to be “Abiding In His Mercy, Growing In His Grace”.  This title is what I believe I am living out at this time in my life.  God has so blessed me with His Mercy and Grace and I believe He will continue to do so as long as I continue to “Abide in the Vine”.  You see, Jesus told us many years ago  in John 5:15“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” So I plan on continuing to “Abide” so I can bear much fruit.

Thanks again for your support and I look forward to tomorrow with excitement.
