The Story

On March 22 2014, the Mangual family lost a member, JoJo 12yrs old in the Washington mudslide. His father, SSG Jose Mangual immediately set out to find his son from Ft Carson Colorado. On April 2 2014 JoJo was found by his father. Jose never gave up hope of finding his baby. We have helped him with the financial obligations in the search for his son. Now he is faced with the task of his memorial. This is a fundraiser to assist him with that. Jose has deployed on numerous occasions and is an example of leadership in the Army and to our country. He has given so much to all of us, though he has not met us all. Those that have met him consider it a privilege. He and his family would extend their hand to anyone who needed it without having to ask. Now it is time we give back and stand up for the Mangaul family. He and his family have given so much to our country; let us now give back as best we can to support him when he needs it most.

If you donate with your bank account, you have to verify your bank account or your donation will be cancelled. WePay requires this in order to submit the donation. I am sorry for the inconvience. Thank you all again.

Hello All,
Thank-you again for contributing to this fundraiser, it truly makes a difference. I have made an event in coordination with the Air Force Falcons in Colorado Springs. This event is open to all ages and all sizes, everyone who donates will have a chance to play with the mighty Falcons if they wish. We will also have prizes for top donors and prizes for those selected at random via a ticket drawing. There is a picture of the flyer with details for this event. Spread the word!

I have an update from JoJo’s dad. I will quote his words as he said it best

“My baby was found right on the spot that I said he was I would like to thank everybody for their prayers and for their support. To my family all I can say is that I love you very much and I will never forget what my family and friends have done for me. My kids are my back bone and joe do will continue to be part of the backbone I will always love you son”

He told me he is truly thankful for everyone supporting him, it gave him strength and continues to do so.

I would like to continue the fundraiser at this time for a few reasons. One he is still having to pay for costs associated with his time in Washington. Two as we all know, there are high costs when a loved one has passed and we honor them as best we can. The third and final reason is this. Jose loves to ride his bicycle; he was planning a race this summer. JoJo assisted in the design of a bike that was brought to life by a cyclist enthusiast in Washington who met Jose. This bike will bear the signature of JoJo and his memory.

May the Lord Bless you & keep you Mangual Family as another Angel has left this earth, but his memory lives on in everyone he met and those he touched in spirit.
