I’m thrilled to announce that YouCaring has partnered with Major League Baseball (MLB) to bring crowdfunding into the Big Leagues. Through our partnership, MLB teams and players will be able to set up fundraisers on our platform for individuals or charities they support.
This is an amazing opportunity to bring teams and fans together to support the people and causes they care about. Major League Baseball has a remarkable ability to harness the power of its brands to do good for the communities it serves, whether it’s for disaster relief crowdfunding, or helping a longtime fan fight cancer. Similarly, YouCaring exists to bring communities together to support one another socially, financially, and emotionally.
We first partnered with the Oakland Athletics to raise money for victims of the Ghostship warehouse fire in Oakland, which tragically killed 36 people. The Oakland A’s responded immediately, working with us to launch a fundraiser to support the victims and their families. The campaign raised over $500,000 and became the single largest fundraiser in the Oakland A’s Community Fund history, with nearly all of the funds raised in just the first week.
We’re extremely honored to be the MLB’s Preferred Crowdfunding Platform, and can’t wait to showcase their philanthropic work and accelerate their efforts. Having raised over $800 million for people and communities facing hardship, we’re dedicated to compassionate crowdfunding™ and providing a free, safe, and effective fundraising platform for Major League Baseball’s charitable needs.
More to come on this partnership!
