“As we work to create light for others, we naturally light our own way.” ― Mary Anne Radmacher
My name is Chasity Williams and this is my passion.
I feel as being raised in America it’s easy to take things in life for granted. I am guilty of this. We live in a country that stands for freedom and you don’t realize how good you have it until it’s gone. I was lucky enough to go on my first mission trip to El Salvador for 1 month when I was 16 years old. When you venture off to an economically challenged country it immediately puts life into a clearer perspective. You begin to appreciate the small things that you take for granted everyday like: hot/clean water, food, medicine, and everyday essentials that you never think about living without.
In October of 2013 I sat through a heart-wrenching sermon at Pathways Community Church. A slide show was presented covering details of the poverty in Guatemala and how the church has conjoined efforts with the locals to help build homes for families and distribute medicine to the unwell. A particular story touched my heart and motivated me to take this journey. A mother was about to kill her two young boys with a machete, an 18 month old and a 3 year old, because they were starving to death and she had no way of providing food. The missionaries from this church were able to save this family. After learning about the ailments of the people including this story and many more I have decided to dedicate my health, time, and energy to this cause.
I have booked a one way to Guatemala to offer my services to the people that need it most. I'll be documenting this journey every step of the way. I'm personally selling my car and nearly all of my large possessions to make this trip possible. My heart is in the right place and I can’t wait to give this everything I’ve got.
Every donation is greatly appreciated! With your support we can change one families life at a time.
