Chris spent a lot of time working at our house over the past couple of years. He was always our 'go-to' guy when anything happened in our home. In fact, whenever something happened my kids always said 'Mom, call Chris right away' because he always picked up the phone and was willing to help. Whenever he was here he had a smile on his face and was often chatting about his kids. I want you to know that your dad was very proud of you and talked about you all very often, whether it was the vacation trip, dance dresses, sporting events, Halloween costumes, etc. I am so very sorry that this has happened and I hope that you find comfort in each other during this difficult time.

My two boys go to school with your two oldest children. My son plays for the Twolves I did not know your husband personally. I did see him at the Twolf field very often. My fiancée Maureen O’Connor knew Nick well so I’m sure she must have known Chris. She was killed in a car accident last year while on a trip to California with her best friend. The devastation of losing someone you love suddenly and tragically causes great pain and I’m sorry your family is going thru this. I live in Minneapolis now and this was a top story on our news. I also heard that this story even made its way across the pond as I got a call from Maureen’s mother who lives in Dublin, Ireland. She had seen the story too and saw Nick speaking on their news. Maureen wasn’t her best right before she was killed and she never got to apologize. On her behalf, this donation is being made. The message that Chris’ widow posted on FaceBook said it best. Say you’re sorry. Hug someone. Let them know you care. I admire her saying that to all of us, especially so soon after her loss. I wish I would have done something like that. I wish I had been that eloquent. Mrs. Pettry, you are a wonderful woman!
