Fundraiser Details

Our friend Patrick was involved in a serious motorcycle accident recently where he suffered a number of injuries. Patrick broke his ribs, collarbone, pelvis, has a punctured lung and suffered some head trauma. He has made it through the last 2 weeks after fighting for his life through a 10 hour surgery on the day of the accident. Pat is currently at Hartford Hospital under the care of one of the best Trauma surgeons in the state of Connecticut. He is fighting a rough infection right now which has caused him to unfortunately face some amputation procedures. While his family's insurance will be able to cover some of the medical bills they face, it will not be able to cover all of them. Pat will need a prosthetic leg which can cost upwards of $10,000. I ask that you please make a donation of any amount for Patrick and his family to help with the medical bills that will cover his surgeries and eventual rehabilitation when he has the strength to do so. Pat needs as much support as ever in his long road to recovery. Please help us reach our goal by spreading the word!

100% of the donations will go to Patrick and his family to help with the medical bills.

Anything counts.

I also encourage anyone who donated to send Pat a care gram through the Hartford Hospital website to show him some support that way as well.

We love you Pat and are here with you every step of the way. You will overcome this like we all know you can. Thinking of you every day.

It has been just over a month since Patrick's accident and the progress that he has made is incredible. As of yesterday, Pat has been moved to the first phase of his rehabilitation in New Britain. I will post the information on the location and details at the bottom of this message. Patrick is in high spirits and is extremely motivated to move forward in his process of getting back to his life. All donations have been helpful and crossing the $14,000 mark was nothing short of amazing. We still have a number of events and efforts happening to continue raising money. There are wristbands for sale that support Patrick. If you are interested in buying one please contact Casey Reppel or myself.

Also, Kris Strobel has taken it upon himself to get a "Hoops for Halgren" tournament going where all team fees will go towards the medical bills as well.

I had the pleasure to see Pat yesterday and his motivation to get a prosthetic and back to his life can be seen in his demeanor. When he discovered our site, he was extremely humbled and thankful for all that we have accomplished. He stood up on his own for the first time two days ago and his doctors can't believe how fast he is moving forward.

Again, thank you all so much for your help with our fundraiser. Please continue your efforts!

Feel free to contact me with any questions or ideas that may help us continue to raise money for Pat and his family.

For those of you who are not following the social media topic trends about Patrick. I will post an update for you here. I bring the great news that as of two days ago, Patrick was able to breathe on his own for the first time since the accident. Our positive energy and support has helped Pat and his family through this difficult time and continues to as the donations are still happening. Pat's second amputation of his leg was not as high as they expected, and will result in a not easy, but easier rehabilitation for him. His family saw our page for the first time yesterday and were overwhelmed with how much love and support they are receiving from those who donated and continue to share our mission to help them.

Many people have reached out to me about other ways to help raise money for Patrick. All ideas have been great and if you would like to contribute to these ideas, feel free to contact me through this site or at my personal email codybackus42@gmail.com.

I want to thank you all again for your continued support for Patrick and ask that you please help me by continuing to share his story with those around you.

Pat has begun his long uphill road to recovery, and we must all stand behind him to keep pushing him forward when things get tough.

Thank you all so much.

We have reached our first milestone of $10,000 and it happened in under 72 hours. I want to thank you all for your generosity. You should all be incredibly proud. This is just the beginning. Here is to another $15,000. The bar has been raised, please continue your support and love for Patrick and his family by helping me get to our new goal of $25,000. Love to all of you.
