Frank Hennessy, a life-long South-Sider, was recently diagnosed with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS/ Lou Gehrig’s disease). You may know Frank from his decades of service to the southern suburbs. From coaching girls’ softball, Little League, and St Benedict’s basketball, volunteering for the YMCA Indian Guides, Blue Island Park District and Eagles, Frank has been a fixture in his community.
ALS is a degenerative disease. For the past year prior to his diagnosis, Frank had been unemployed and uninsured. Medical bills, prescription drugs and assistive equipment necessary for individuals with ALS are very expensive.
If you are in the Chicagoland area on December 15, 2013, please stop by the Double Play Saloon in Blue Island, IL from 3:00-7:00pm for the big fundraiser. The Double Play is located at 13011 Western Ave. on Chicago's south side. If you cannot make it, feel free to help via this site. Frank appreciates all the support and all the love.
