We have been working our Dossier. This is the rather large pile of paper that is submitted to China requesting their approval to adopt Zhong’ao and sharing nearly every detail about our family so they see we are a fit match for him. We have been gathering birth certificates, marriage license, and medical and financial documents….all documents must be issued within the last 6 months, so none of this we collected when adopting Xiao could be reused. Yesterday we visited the Magistrate’s office and Ohio Country Sheriff to get paperwork stating that we do not have a criminal record. It was surreal being there with Xiao this time…it seems like just yesterday we were there getting the documents to bring her home. As always, she was a charmer and things went more smoothly this time around with her help. Over the weekend, we took the kids to post office to begin the process of getting Rocco and Bruno passports (they will be traveling to China with us.). It turns out, to a 2, 4, 7, and 8 year old, the United States Post Office is a thrilling adventure...they ran around the place in complete joy, “look at that”…let me put this box on my head. Luckily the Passport man was kind and enjoyed their enthusiasm of the place.
