We have some regrettable news: after reckoning over a series of communication failures and capacity issues, we've decided to postpone the 20 hour training until August, when we can make proper accommodations to all parties and honor needs of both our trainers and trainees.
In lieu of the training this weekend, we will host a 3 hour emergency first aid training from 9am-12p on Saturday May 5th to support emergency response. We also will use time in the afternoon to hold a training for folks who have already had a 20 hour training to support our second attempt at making this training a reality. The second training, while not open to everyone, exists to establish clearer norms and expectations for trainings in the future.
20 hour training are an immense amount of work. We want this to be the best training possible and in order to deliver that, we need to take a step back, reassess, and come back refreshed with both a clearer vision and a better solidified sense of logistical needs. We deeply apologize for this last minute decision, and we understand that it impacts all of you, our trainees, and our volunteers. We hope that this emergency first aid training will suffice in the meantime and we look forward to an excellent training in a couple months.
