Vital Solutions, http://www.vitalsol.org/ a non-profit from Seattle received their license to operate their Medical Clinic in in the Olooliamutia village of Kenya. This clinic will be able to reach the roughly 4000 locals that do not have access to basic health care. The nearest medical care for the people of Olooliamutia is over 90 miles away. With the difficulties of transportation, it is farther than most people are able to travel. The clinic will not only provide basic care, but also specialized prenatal and neonatal care.
Last year the team traveled to complete the Clinic, this year we need to provide staff housing. Team Eclectic will be raising money to fund the construction of the housing. We will be traveling in October to work on the staff housing for the Clinic.
The reason for Staff housing is because the staff is comprised mostly of volunteers. To get volunteers, we need a place for them to stay.
I have always had a strong desire to visit Africa, particularly Kenya. My sister says "since you were 2 years old!" I wouldn't go that far, but it truly has been a lifelong dream. This mission gives me the opportunity to fulfill that dream AND contribute to a very important cause. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide with helping the Masaai people.
Our fund raising goal is $15,000 to cover construction costs. Vital Solutions plans to raise an additional $20,000 and Creekside Church will be donating another $15,000. With $50,000, we will construct the staff housing for the clinic this year. Each team member is asked to raise $2500 to donate. This does not include travel or any other personal expenses - we each pay our own way.
To add extra incentive for donating I will offer what I can in return. For any donation of $50 you will receive $10 in Mary Kay product, for $100 donations you get $25 in Mary Kay product, and for a $500 donation you get $150 in Mary Kay product! All donors will be entered into a drawing for a 3 day 2 night stay at my vacation house in Ocean Shores WA!
