On April 18, farmworker was detained by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) while he was working at a dairy farm in Rome NY. The detention happened in front of two of his four children, ages 6 and 8, while they were waiting for the school bus. His wife, Virginia, who is 7 months pregnant, was at a doctor’s appointment. When she came back Marcial was gone and his children were traumatized.
Marcial is a hardworking and responsible father and he is well regarded by his employer, John Collins, who has talked publicly about the unjust detention and his own experience as the 9 officers who arrested Marcial, stormed in to his property without a warrant. Mr. Collins was even handcuffed and his phone was thrown on the road as he tried to record the warrantless intrusion in to his property to arrest of one of his employees.
HOW WE CAN HELP
Marcial is still in detention and his family is in extreme need of support. The donations will go directly to the family for any expenses or needs they have while Marcial is in detention. Virginia an her family are grateful for any donation, no matter how small, to keep their family together and safe.
We will not let our neighbors suffer alone!
