How’s Nashville is a community-wide, collaborative effort to end homelessness in Nashville, TN. Since its launch in June 2013, How's Nashville partners have helped over 1,200 people experiencing chronic and Veteran homelessness obtain and maintain permanent housing.
How's Nashville recently launched a new campaign called 2016 by 2016. The goal of 2016 by 2016 is to end Veteran homelessness in Nashville by the end of 2015 and to end chronic homelessness by the end of 2016. To meet these goals, an estimated 2,016 people will need to find permanent housing by December 31, 2016.
This fundraiser will pay for move-in costs for people that exit homelessness this year. 100% of the funds will go directly to people in need. Specifically, these funds will pay for costs such as deposits for electricity and other utilities, security deposits for apartments, first month's rent, debt to utility companies and past landlords, and any other financial barriers that prevent people from ending his/her experience of homelessness.
Nonprofit partners participating in How's Nashville request and use these funds on a daily basis during the housing navigation and move-in process. This fundraiser will help sustain this flexible pot of funds and get us on track to ending Veteran and chronic homelessness!
