VEDIKE is a registered non-government and non-profit organisation working in rural Bangalore, India. VEDIKE is partnered with Global Citizens for Sustainable Development (GCSD), India. The Vedike mission is, “To transform the lives of underprivileged children, engage in ecologically responsible activities and develop the community through sustainable acts”.
In the local language, ‘vedike’ means ‘platform’. Our goal is to act as a platform for change!
Since 2012, VEDIKE has provided a children’s home for at-risk boys and engaged in community development activities, such as building homes and toilets for underprivileged families. We are currently working towards opening a separate dormitory for girls, a registered school and a vocational training centre.
VEDIKE’s vision is to provide a children’s home for 120 children (boys and girls), a school for 400 students and vocational training opportunities for the local community.
