For those of us who have had the pleasure of knowing Elizabeth and have had our lives enriched by her music, we now have a special opportunity to partner with her in the next exciting season of her life. She recently announced to her church community that she will be attending the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry (http://bssm.net/) in Redding, California (to read more about how she came to this decision, you can read an excerpt of the announcement at the bottom of this message).
With the decision to pursue schooling, she will be stepping away from her role as the Worship Pastor at Open Door and will be scaling back her worship leading at other churches, which will significantly impact her income over the next year.
To show tangible support for our dear friend, who has decided to courageously respond to God’s call, we’ve created this fund. Our goal, as her community, is to support her in a full year of school: tuition + room & board + a mission trip = $30,000.
If you are reading this letter, then you have no doubt been touched by Elizabeth’s heart and music in a special way; her message of unwavering hope and faith has impacted countless people around the world. If you have had the privilege of being led by Elizabeth in worship, you have experienced the anointing of the Spirit through her leadership. God’s call in her life has clearly been to participate in the transformation of His people through music. We trust God will do unbelievably more than we could ever ask or imagine, through Elizabeth, and we are honored to be able to invest in her in this way. Will you join us?
Here is an excerpt of Elizabeth’s announcement to the Open Door Community that was given on March 24th (http://www.opendooreastbay.com/blog/):
“For the last several years, the Lord has been stirring something new in me. He has been awakening me in a fresh way to His Spirit and His heart for His people. A few years ago, here at Open Door we were walking through the book of Acts in a series called Seismic. During this series we took several weeks to look at the Holy Spirit. This was a very transformational time for many of us, and God used that series and many people at Open Door to really rock my world. We were all challenged to both look for the ways that God was speaking to us in a moment-by-moment by way, and then take a risk in responding to His voice and invitation. This experience with Open Door sent me on a journey of wanting to step into all that God has for me, with a renewed faith that “with God all things are possible.”
The Lord has been doing a great work in me personally and as a worship leader. I have felt challenged to step out and take risks as a worship leader, relying not just on what I’ve prepared and my own skill, but responding to what God wants to do in the moment. As the Lord has been stirring up all these new things, I have felt a desire for further training in some areas. I have sensed the Lord inviting me into a time of receiving – of learning more about Him and being further equipped for ministry. I have felt God leading me on this journey, and I have decided to move to Redding and attend the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry this Fall. It is a 9 month program focused on both personal spiritual growth and ministry training, and I’m really excited to see what God has in store during my time there.”
