The Story

Ten hours before his death, Tommy picked up his cap and gown, ready for his alternate high school graduation with so much of life to look forward to.

At only 20, Tommy was a bright, light-hearted and loving friend, student, brother and son. His outgoing and unique personality always lit up the room and made others laugh. We will surely miss you, Tommy!

On June 13th 2017 upon report of disturbances in the Burien Neighborhood, south of Seattle, Tommy was brutally shot and killed by a King County sheriff’s deputy while holding a pen in his hand. His entire family and friends are deeply stricken and sadden about his unjustified death.

Tommy deserves justice and closure. The family is asking for your generosity to help with funeral and legal expenses in the coming months as we continue to fight for justice. Any unused funds will be donated to charity.

Our family deeply appreciates your generosity, warm thoughts and prayers.

Fundraiser Updates

Hello All! Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the holiday season. We wanted to provide you with an update that we finally have an inquest date set for May.

Unfortunately, the inquest process does not allow for the victim to have representation. We are reaching out to ask for your help. Please sign the petition so that a revised inquest process can be in effect to bring Justice to Tommy Le and other victims fatally shot by the police.

Thank you so much for your continual support! Wishing you all a joyous and peaceful holiday season surrounded by the love and comfort of your family and friends.

In Solidarity and with gratitude,

Le Family

Thank you everyone for your generosity and heartfelt messages. Our family deeply appreciates your words of kindness and support during this time of grief.  We would also like to take this opportunity to provide you with an update.

As some may have heard, Tommy’s autopsy and toxicology report has been released. Tommy had no alcohol or drugs in his body, and it was revealed that he was shot from behind, with six shots fired, two bullets went through his back and one to the wrist.

Our Family and Legal Representative had a press conference late last week to announce that we intend to file a lawsuit against the Sheriff’s Office. There are a number of articles out there covering this press conference.

With your help, we’ve exceeded our initial goal of raising funds to cover Tommy’s funeral expenses. The rest of the fund will be used to cover legal expenses that may arise during the long process. Should there be any funds left our hope is to donate the rest back to the community in honor of Tommy’s memory.

Though the road ahead may be a long one we’ll continue with hope of finding justice. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

We are truly grateful to receive support from caring and thoughtful family, friends, community, and even those in a different country.

With deepest appreciation,

Le Family
