The Story of Tom, Mindy & the Pancreatic Tumor
This story of Pancreatic Cancer is entwined in Mindy’s and my growing relationship, a relationship that was only eleven months new when the first symptoms appeared in late 2013. It is a love story, and it is the story of an emotional ordeal that is now turning into a financial challenge.
I survived surgery and chemo and I am now 20 months past the surgery in excellent health with my Liver Enzymes (key leading indicators of anti-cancer health) almost back to normal. But 20 months is just the median survival time for patients who have had my kind of surgery, and blood tests this spring and summer do show that I have circulating tumor cells in my blood. I am by no means out of the woods. It is critical that I continue my holistic healthcare regimen to prevent metastasis and to keep my immune system strong.
That is why I am asking for your help. My monthly out-of-pocket medical expenses for testing, treatments and supplements are $1,900, and $1,100 of that is coming out of what is left of my quite depleted lifetime savings. We have already opened up our guest bedroom for airbnb clients, and that provided helpful income this summer and will continue to do so during the skiing season. My new Energy Medicine Practice is also beginning to provide some income, yet even with these two extra income sources, we are still $1,100 a month short.
With your contribution you will in effect be paying forward for other cancer patients and clients that I will be treating in the future as my Energy Medicine (EM) Practice grows. Our gift to you for your donation of $250 or more will be a 75-90 minute EM session in Durango. And for your donation of $500 or more Mindy and I together will gift you a two and half hour combined Massage and EM session in Durango. Of course we would also welcome you as a new client at our normal rates.
