Greetings and Salutations Friend,
Your trash is someone's greatest treasure!
Tinker Elves is a non-profit organization working to inspire a neighbor-to-neighbor philanthropic spirit by collecting, fixing, and delivering lightly used toys and donated goods to families in need in the community of Slidell, Louisiana.
We would like to extend an invitation for you to get involved!
Tinker Elves is a dream realized by Danny Hamilton in 2012, and has in the past five years accumulatively helped over 1,000 families celebrate Christmas. This year, we hope to reach over 600 children as our third year as a legitimate non-profit. The goal for the future is to provide help year around to families in need of our support for other gift giving holidays.
The idea is simple. We will collect and restore used bikes, scooters, power wheels, swing sets, basketball goals, and other toys. With the help of local schools and other organizations, we will compile a list of deserving children to deliver these items during Christmas time. We also take note of worthy families from nominations via our social media platforms. While Tinker Elves does focus on children, the spirit of Christmas does extend to providing special request items such as Christmas trees, decorations, and Christmas dinners to support the family unit as a whole.
We were able provide families with the tools necessary to learn the gift of giving, but unfortunately on October 24, 2017 the Tinker Shop burned along with half the inventory for this year. It was a devastating loss for the families of the Tinker Community. It was a tragedy for Tinker Elves because the Tinker Shop was located in the founding family home. A total loss.
Any type of support that your sponsorship can provide will be most graciously accepted. We look forward to your sponsorship of our mission.
Please send us a personal message to find out more about how you can help or how we can help you. Tinker Elves is grateful for the participation of all volunteers and the generous donations from our community.
From the bottom of our hearts,
Please help us spread the word!
