On Sunday, February 12, Jenni Steiner and her husband Kirk U’Ren were on Highway 30 on their way to cheer on the Badgers when the driver of a speeding car lost control and struck their SUV.
Kirk died in a tragic instant. Jenni was very badly injured and taken to a nearby hospital where she is in critical condition and fighting for her life.
Jenni and Kirk met at University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Their passion for sports, competitive spirits, generous hearts and warm smiles created a lifelong bond. As a couple, they were engaging and always fun to be around. Kirk and Jenni have been married for almost six years. They always dreamed of raising kids together and were blessed with twin boys, Kaden and Grayson last year.
Jenni is a senior manager at Baker Tilly in Madison and Kirk was a Sales Supervisor at Pepsi-Cola of Madison. Like so many others who have been touched by this amazing family, their co-workers at Baker Tilly and Pepsi-Cola of Madison would like to help in any way they can. This site has been created to help Kirk and Jenni’s families manage this extraordinarily difficult time.
Jenni's Baker Tilly colleagues are honored to know, work with and love Jenni. She is a cherished friend, amazing role model, mentor and a positive influence on everyone she knows.
Kirk was instrumental in the development of the Pepsi / Walmart Justin J. Watt Foundation golf outing that raised money for the foundation as well as the Madison area Boys & Girls Club. He led by example, had a huge heart for people and a great mind for business. Kirk will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
We are grateful for any financial support you wish to give their families and children. Your donations will go directly to them to ensure that all the dreams Jenni and Kirk have for their beautiful sons come true.
On behalf of Pepsi-Cola of Madison and Baker Tilly, thank you for your kindness.
