Message from Cindy and Family:
I don't have words to thank you all properly for the kindness and love you have shown me and my kids. While I rejoice that Tom is in heaven, my human heart is broken and these few weeks have been the hardest I have ever endured. You have given so freely of your time and shared stories and sent notes and given money and I want you to know that each and every mention of Tom, every action, every prayer, every memory, has been an amazing blessing to us.
Thank you, SQLFamily and other friends for letting me know that Tom lives on in each of you. His legacy of faith, family and friendship -- with humor and grace and a big smile -- endures and I am so very humbled by your responses in our time of grief. Those of you who blogged about him, oh my goodness!
What absolute treasures you've given my family. God bless you. I hope to hug many of you on the 3rd. Thank you for loving my guy and understanding that he was a light, a true gentleman who always wanted what was best for everyone and was willing to help anyone, anytime. I found some notes of his the other day from a SQLSaturday presentation he was working on and this quote he wrote really stuck with me: "Every problem you face will likely be a problem someone else has faced before. Know that there are people who will want to help you IF you are brave enough to ask."
Bless Yanni Robel for being brave and asking you to reach out and help us. You are such a blessing in our lives and we thank God for you and John. We want you all to know that your gifts gave us a cushion. SQLFamily, you helped us not panic in those first days of "What now."
You bought us groceries and prescriptions and paid for Tom's cremation. You put gas in my car and bought the nice suit Tom wanted Michael to have. You downloaded his book. You shared Tom stories. You cried with us and laughed with us and reminded us that Tom is in heaven, healthy, whole and totally pain free. You kept us afloat -- and continue to do so -- as we work through a mountain of paperwork.
We will never forget your kindness -- or your love of our @qeeql.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Cindy, Alyssa, Kevin and Michael
