On Friday December 2nd, 2016 Sara Hoda was one of many artists and art enthusiasts lost in Oakland's Ghost Ship Fire. Sara has always been active within the arts and a proud supporter of all things Oakland. She dedicated her career to teaching inner city Oakland and East Bay children. Sara was currently teaching 1st - 3rd grade kids at the Urban Montessori Charter School.
Sara always spoke passionately about her beliefs in the need to organize to create quality live/workspaces for all. Being an artist in Oakland is not easy. Rising costs of living has made it difficult for the art community to sustain and continue to develop local art.
Sara is selfless and would not want a fund to be about her. Therefore the Hoda family has created a fund posthumously in Sara's honor to help support her favorite people and passions. All proceeds will go directly to support safe and sustainable live/work spaces for all. This is what Sara would want.
If you have donated to any other fundraiser specific to Sara, All funds will be directed to this fund.
