For the month of October, members of law enforcement agencies in York County are going “razor-less for a reason” and participating in the Beards for Bucks campaign. Police officers from across the county are growing beards, mustaches and goatees to support the Children’s Advocacy Center of York County!
The Children’s Advocacy Center of York County is a program under Sexual Assault Response Services of Southern Maine. The CAC is a child-friendly place that serves children and families after an allegation of sexual abuse. We are trained professionals who provide forensic interviews, advocacy, referrals, and support for kids and their families. We work together with law enforcement, the Department of Health and Human Services, the District Attorney’s office, mental health providers, medical personnel, and advocates as a collaborative team. Our goals are to reduce trauma to children, increase access to services, and hold more offenders accountable.
