The Story

The Carrizo Comecrudo tribe is heart broken by the tragic shooting at Santa Fe High School (SFHS). Many are wounded and confirmed dead. It is our goal to raise $5,000+ for SFHS victims.

Medical, emotional after care, and funeral expenses will be high. All funds collected from this date (5/18/18) through the coming days will support the Santa Fe Texas area meet the needs of families impacted by the shooting. Our cause coordinator for SFHS shooting tragedy is local to the Brazoria - Galveston County are. Needs will be assessed, carefully. We anticipate acute care for injuries sustained during the shooting, funeral expenses, physical therapy, and counseling for impacted families will demand the bulk of your donations. This page will share our efforts within the Santa Fe community. If there are any questions contact Lori Simmons at [email protected]
We are grateful for your generosity!

The Carrizo Comecrudo Tribe has a long standing tradition of community outreach in times of tragedy. Recently, the tribe played an important role during hurricane Harvey relief efforts. It provided aid and volunteers in the Houston and South Texas areas hit hardest by Harvey.

If there is a donation you intend to be ear marked for something other than the victims please comment or use the tribes gofund me.

Information about the Carrizo/Comecrudo people:
The Carrizo/Comecrudo tribe lived along the South Texas Rio Grande delta since before Texas joined the union. Texas joined the Union. As a state, Texas chose not to honor early treaties or recognize several indigenous people. This includes the Carrizo/Comecrudo tribe.

There are no reservations or casinos for the Carrizo/Comecrudo tribe to utilize; to grow their nations on. Many of the tribes have been scrubbed out of the history books. This has limited their ability to practice their life ways and teach their children. If you choose to support the Carrizo/Comecrudo efforts to purchase land, develop youth programs, and protect the earth in West Texas please follow their Facebook Page. Everything helps and your donations will be greatly appreciated and utilized within the Carrizo/Comecrudo Tribe.
