To all of you who supported the Restore Honor Ride: THANK YOU!!!!
I completed the ride on Friday, June 23rd, 2017 when I rode into Washington, DC's Arlington National Cemetery. I'm almost sorry that it's over now, but know that the fight for equality, recognition, and honor is never over. I will continue to speak about LGBT service members and veterans, and continue to raise awareness to our service. I will continue working with and for Veterans who were discharged to upgrade those discharges to Honorable. I will continue to look for resources to help LGBT Veterans. I will continue to acknowledge and honor LGBT Veterans and their significant others for their sacrifices. I will continue to offer encouragement and financial assistance to those who need and want to heal the past.
Now that I'm back in Texas, I am preparing for an extended trip around the country in my RV. I have a lot of things to do before I can take off, but once I do, I will be free to go wherever the wind blows. I am now a member of the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) and the American Legion, and hope to increase awareness of LGBT Veterans within those groups, and make them more welcome. There is much to do.
I originally promised, way back at the beginning of this youcaring campaign, rewards for different levels of donations. You probably were not even aware of them. I want to honor that promise to you. Donations predominantly fell into 3 categories: less than $50, $50-$99, $100 or more. I appreciate every single donation no matter the amount, and I want you to know that they were used judiciously to make the Restore Honor Ride possible. For those who donated between $50-99, I will have Restore Honor Ride coffee mugs made and mail one to you. If you gave $100 or more, you can get a T-shirt. I only need one thing from you.
I don't have your mailing address. Please send an email to [email protected]
with this information:
Your mailing address
Your T-shirt size (if you donated $100 or more)
If you would prefer a mug (if you donated $100 or more)
If you don't want to claim your gift, simply ignore this request. All of your money will then go toward acknowledging and honoring LGBT Veterans.
Thanks again. I will never forget your support for the cause and your belief and support in me and the others involved in this endeavor.
