Celina Alexandre was a beautiful and unique young woman who possessed the all-too-rare ability to connect with everyone she encountered in her life. She was well on her way toward making a difference in our world—she was just two weeks from graduating with her AA degree from Folsom Lake College (FLC), when her life was tragically cut short in a vehicle accident on April 30, 2016.
Her passion for learning and her drive to share what she had learned with others—enriched the heart of each person she encountered. If you are reading this, you most likely have a Celina Story or have known someone with a similar legacy. Hold that story in your heart and cherish it. Whether you are a member of her family, an East or West Coast friend, a fellow FLC student or faculty member, or a member of her winery family—we all agree that Celina could overcome anything in her path.
From the stories about her, from the outpouring of love and grief on Facebook, from the tears of her family, friends and co-workers, it is evident that the life and the contribution of this exceptional young woman are now lost.
Unless we act.
The idea—no—the necessity—of creating a Scholarship Fund in her memory has been raised. You—and each of us together—can make it happen.
Our goal is to establish a coast-to-coast scholarship fund in her memory. The scholarships will be awarded to students who demonstrate academic excellence, financial need, and the drive and determination to pursue their dreams. This enduring scholarship fund will preserve Celina’s legacy and continue supporting her passion of helping others.
In lieu of flowers and other charity gifts, we ask that you please contribute what you can to this scholarship fund. For Her. For your hopes for our future. So we can dig and nurture and seek and search and hope to find a Light that was a Bright as hers.
