Willy's Kitty Angels was founded in 2008 in response to the stray and feral cat populations in Webster and Dudley. In March of 2009, Willy's received non-profit status from the IRS. Between 2004 and 2010 Willy's trapped, neutered, and returned 350 feral/stray cats in their service area. In 2010 we became a PetSmart Charity Adoption Partner, and moved our home base to Northbridge. In November of 2010, our adoptable cats and kittens moved into the adoption center at the Millbury PetSmart. Since then, we have found homes for over 1000 cats and kittens! Out of those cats and kittens adopted, no more than 10 have come back to us for being a bad match to their forever humans. We believe the foster home network philosophy works, unfortunately the fact we do not have a building limits our ability to apply for funding and grant monies. After seven years of being non profit, our donor base is not what it should be, and every year that goes by we struggle more to survive. We pay modest fees for our spay/neuter surgeries, vaccines, and medication. While our cats reside at the adoption center, PetSmart pays for their food and litter. We however, must purchase all of our own food and litter, at times PetSmart does collect food and litter on our behalf. PetSmart Charities also donates monies to Willy's for each cat adopted. In 2010 that was $15.00 per cat, now it is $10.00 per cat. We appreciate being an adoption partner as it helps us find the best homes for our cats and kittens, but it isn't enough financial support. We are now at a critical time, we need your help if we are going to continue our work! We have previous bills to pay, and also bills coming in the future for the spay and neuter surgeries for the cats and kittens in our care. We have done fundraisers--a Funds2Org shoe fundraiser that gave us $1000.00 donation, which was matched by MRFRS. These monies paid for much needed surgeries for two cats in our care. Our "Caturday Nite Live" only netted is $280.00 after expenses, currently we are collecting shoes and clothing for an ongoing fundraiser.
