Since opening in January 2015, The Cat Cafe
has sent nearly 200 cats from San Diego Humane Society
to good homes. We limit the number of people who can be in our cat playpen to 16. With no more than a dozen cats present at any one time per guidelines from the ASPCA
, we do this to make sure the animals don't get stressed or overstimulated.
This means during peak times, many people need to wait outside. To increase their comfort and to allow those who aren't interested in interacting with the cats to relax in a more comfortable way, we're building a sidewalk cafe.
This is not cheap. Simply obtaining the permits from the City to build the sidewalk cafe is likely to cost $2,000 to $3,000. Labor and materials is estimated to add another $1,500 to $2,000.
For a business less than two years old, we have been successful. But we need help with the capital to pursue this, and that's why we're coming to you!
Please help if you can. No donation is too small and both we and the cats we're able to help because of you appreciate it!
