We are soliciting support to scale a global virtual platform for teens to express, share, and network around their dreams, as they relate to one off the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Teens Dream hosted our 4th annual video competition on September 30th 2017 where we flew in our winners, honored them, matched them with mentors, and created virtual dream hubs for teens to connect in support groups around their SDG dreams. Watch it live streamed by our media sponsor Turkish American TV here. See photos here. See blog here.We celebrated our nine 2016 winners from across the world - chosen from our over 50 teen dream video submissions this year, which you can view in our Gallery.
Teens Dream is an annual video competition that encourages teens to think, express and share their dreams with a short YouTube video. Nine winners receive up to $500 each, a trip to our annual celebration in Washington, DC, and are linked with organizations and networks to help them pursue their dreams -- all in allignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The Teen Media Production Group helps teens with their video submissions and Dream Hubs provide a virtual place for all teens to connect with other teens and mentor organizations globally around their SDG oriented dreams. Teens Dream links winners with mentor networks and engages them in rare opportunities to meet networks to pursue their passions. See winners of teens dream here and some of their comments:
TeensDream is an incredible organization, and without it, I would never be traveling to DC for anything more than a family vacation. From the radio interview to the meetings with the Union of Concerned Scientists and the Rainforest Action Network, TeensDream has gone above and beyond to help me reach my dream. Carly, Texas, United States
I now serve as the 2017 Global Co Lab intern, and I recently flew from my hometown of Cold Spring, Kentucky to attend the Earth Optimism Summit in Washington, D.C. to promote Teens Dream and launch our Dream Hub. The connections I formed while in D.C. during salons, presentations, and networking are invaluable resources for me as a teen aspiring to enter a career in global peace building and diplomacy. Teens Dream has offered me support and encouragement in my dreams, and I hope to perpetuate its mission for youth around the world. Catherine, Kentucky, United States
Teens Dream has pushed me to think about what a "dream" really is. I've had this personal dream to be a filmmaker my whole life. But the video competition is what helped me make the decision to chase it. Alli, New York, United States
Just got off FaceTime with C plus a couple hours ago, enjoyed talking to him, he's a cool guy and gave me some advice and guidance with music... Thank you for putting me in contact! JAYO, London, United Kingdom
Teens dreams has motivated me to chase my dream, and become a better filmmaker. It is truly an inspirational program! Anselmo, Toronto, Canada
