The Story

King/Frankie is a male German Shepherd in New Haven, CT. Clearly abused and starved, he was wrapped in a tarp and left to die next to a dumpster. We do not know his age. The person caring for him claims he is not hers, that he belongs to a family member. She says he is 14-16 years old and developed arthritis and couldn't walk,  so they left him outside to die.
The volunteers who first met him to transport him to the vet think he is much younger than that.
Frank is now safe with Super Paws Rescue receiving veterinary care.
He is in grim shape and being stabilized before treatment can begin. He may have cancer on top of all the other medical issues he's suffered from clear abuse and starvation.
Frank needs a savior, PLEASE donate towards his care and treatment! If there is a chance to recover and thrive we desperately want to give him that chance!  Super Paws will be pursuing cruelty charges against the owner. Neighbors and witnesses to his condition will give statements. Right now we need all of the help we can get just to give him a fighting chance. Every dollar helps. PLEASE DONATE!!

12/6/2016 Frank has been progressing very nicely. He has gained weight, he is walking well. He follows Lori all around. He is trying to walk up the stairs too. Frank is very happy and feeling so much better. The chemotherapy is working very well!
We could not have gotten this far without your help, and we need to finish his treatment. Please consider donating to his vet bills.
Thank you for your continued support!

Update!

Frank is doing a lot better! He's been trying to get up on his own, he's doing much better on his trips outside too.
Tomorrow he will have an ultrasound of his abdominal cavity and his chest cavity. We are all a little nervous but we are hopeful that anything found will start to shrink with the chemo.
Frank is a fighter but still needs your prayers and support to help cover his medical bills.
The vets are impressed with his progress!

Frank
Frank has been gaining strength every day. That is a great sign. He even may be able to go to a foster home next week.
Frank is not out of the woods by any chance yet.
He has lymphoma with secondary tumors and has pneumonia as well.
As you know he has started chemo and the costs are more than we originally thought they would be.
His first chemo treatment was $429.50 but the rest will be $350 per week for 26 weeks.
During his treatment,  he will need other tests such as blood work and ultrasounds to see how the medicine is working and that he's still handling it ok.
Each day he is inpatient is about $150.
Therefore, we are raising the fundraiser from $5000 to $12000 to cover everything.
He will likely need a wheelchair as well.
As of yesterday, his bill is $1608.50.
It is our sincere hope that Frank will have a long and happy life, but if he has a year in a loving home it is all worth it.
We thank you all for your support. We couldn't do this without you!
Frank is one lucky dog to have so many people who love him!
Go Frank!
