Please help St. William School's Class of 2018 Spring Forward...
Our Teachers - Our Parents - Our School
We ask too much of our teachers who help us in our formative years, don't you agree?
Our teachers often pay for school supplies and supplies for class projects out of their own pockets. Their primary roll of teaching and spending countless hours after school lets out for the day and at home grading our assignments and test should remain their primary roll. Our teachers should not need to worry about how they are going pay for the classroom supplies while working on lesson plans. Our teachers enjoy what they do, why add a source of stress to the jobs that they enjoy.
Any funds collected beyond our stated fund raising goal will be donated to the teachers of St. William School to pay for supplies for the next year. This will help our teachers for for the next school year, and help them focus on lesson plans, rather than burden them with extra expenses. We hope this will help the school remain a viable beacon of the community for struggling families that choose to sacrifice to send their children to a private Catholic Elementary school.
We also ask too much of our parents when it comes to funding our extra curricular activities, don't you agree? By helping us out with a donation, you help us decrease the extra burden on our parents as well. Our parents deserve a break or two once in a while. Don't you agree?
Spiritual - Welcoming - Successful
We are a small, Catholic elementary school on the NW side of Chicago that serves a predominantly lower-income community. Many of our students attend school on scholarships provided by the parish, the Office of Catholic Schools, and Big Shoulders Fund of Chicago. Since Graduation fees and end of year activities are not covered by the school or any outside financing. Our fundraisers are meant to help the students of struggling families to offset the out of pocket costs of our end of year activities that every student has enjoyed before us.
Without your generosity, many of these students wouldn't be able to enjoy these activities and miss out on the great memories with their class mates.
All schools have been struggling in the past few years, especially Christian schools, St. William School is no exception. Since the 2008 downturn in the economy, this has meant a lower enrollment, less money available to parents for tuition and a higher operating cost of doing business for the school. While we do our best to save money wherever possible, teachers and parents are still expected to do more. We don't want to do this at the expense of our teachers, students or parents.
We are the new prospective Alumni of St. William School and would like a school to come back to a visit from time to time after we graduate.
The 8th-Grade class and St. William Community thanks you for your support.
