The St. Thomas Race for Education began as a means to raise funds for a much needed playground and has evolved into an event that engages our school community in sharing the benefits of a Catholic education and ensuring that no student will be denied the opportunity of a Catholic education. Keeping tuition affordable and providing tuition assistance to those in need makes it possible for all students to attend St. Thomas the Apostle School.
The St. Thomas Race for Education has become a much anticipated annual event for our students. Now in its 11th year, it continues to excite the students, involves every school family and engage the greater community. Students are the center of this event from the very start when they personalize letters to family and friends inviting them to sponsor them on race day. They have school pep rallies and encourage each other to get involved. They craft signs, posters and displays that show visitors their passion for the school. They create videos that ooze with school pride showing the greater community the wonderful opportunities to be had at St. Thomas the Apostle School. They stretch and prepare their minds and their bodies for Race day when they come together once again to demonstrate their love of school and their team spirit.
On June 2nd, 2017 students will walk or jog around a 1/3 mile loop at the school as many times as they are able in one hour's time. Please sponsor a child, and if you can, come and see them on race day!
