Greetings from St. Paul Lutheran Church and School in Luxemburg, Wisconsin! We are a small, rural Lutheran church in northeastern Wisconsin, about 30 minutes east of Green Bay. Although we are a small congregation, music is vitally important to our faith, our community, and our school. We believe that it is through music that we not only share our faith, but a sense of community and importance of education to those around us both young and old. In this spirit, it is our goal to start a handbell choir for our school and church.
For those who do not know about handbells, think of a bell tower in a church. Instead of large hanging bells housed in a building, these small bells have a strap or handle. Each bell is of varying sizes and tuned to a range of notes. The whole set of handbells is then rung by a group of people of varying sizes depending on the amount of bells.
These bells would be used in both the school and church setting. We currently have a small children's bell set that is great for preschool or elementary school, but we want to expand our program to the upper grades for church services and school events. Another main focus will be to create a mixed-age choir to provide a new musical dynamic for church services and community events.
We are looking to purchase a three octave set of bells (37 note), tables, foam, gloves, and mallets by the end of 2018. The total cost would be around $14000, however any assistance you can provide regardless of the number would be very much appreciated. We are prayerfully hoping that you would consider supporting our music program through your prayers and financial gifts. Thank you for taking the time to look over our fundraising page and God's blessings to you all.
