The Story

Norman is in desperate need of our help. He was found on the side of I-275 2 weeks ago and brought to our county shelter. Radiographs revealed he had a luxating hip injury. Norman ended up on the euthanasia list, and a wonderful man adopted him to save his life, with the intent to take care of his medical needs and then adopt him on his own. Norman became very sick with a severe upper respiratory infection, with possible underlying issues. He has been getting overnight care at Tampa Bay Veterinary Emergency Services and day care at Animal Health Center of Humane Society of Tampa Bay.  The stress of the constant transporting back and forth is making it even more difficult for Norman to respond to treatment.  Norman's adopter has asked for our help, so we will be taking over his care today.

Norman will be going to VCA Carrollwood Cats today to see if they can get him turned around and identify any underlying issues. If they feel it's necessary, he will then be transferred to Blue Pearl for 24 hour intensive care

Please help us help Norman! Any donation will go directly to his care. No amount is too small.

Norman Update 5/31!

Wow, a lot sure has happened since our last update for our special fella Norman! As you know, Norman suffered from life threatening complications that started with an untreated severe upper respiratory infection that required him to be in a critical care environment for 10 days. His life actually hung in the balance for 3-4 days before he started showing gradual signs of improvement. After his stay in critical care, he went into a special foster home where he would receive the necessary care to help him gain strength and get beyond the severe infection that was taxing his system. We saw great improvements and Norman was transitioned to his sustaining foster home, where he would finish his stabilization period, and then be ready to finally have his injured hip repaired. That’s where we left you all at Norman’s last update. Well since March, Norman suffered a couple of set-backs that prevented us from keeping him on track with his hip repair. I think we know now that Norman will always be more susceptible to certain immune deficiency disorders. But our boy conquered his recent challenges and was finally cleared for his surgery. So today Norman got his hip repaired. And he came through it like the champion that he is. Norman will be under close supervision during his rehabilitation period with his special foster Momma Annette. Much heartfelt thanks to all of Norman’s fans and contributors. Without you, Norman wouldn’t be us today.

Today was moving day for our Norman. With a little kitty tear in his eye, Norman packed his bags and came to his new foster, mama Heidi, where he will begin the next part of his journey in getting his luxated hip repaired. We are so very grateful for the wonderful care Norman received while under the ever watchful eye of his foster Momma Annette. She brought him through the most critical part of his journey, which actually will make his next leg much easier. We will be consulting with an orthopedic surgeon soon to understand what Norman will be needing. But in the meantime, we’ll be letting this handsome guy settle in to his new digs, and ensure he is nice and comfy.

please continue to share his fundraiser. The cost of his care has exceeded $10,000, and he still has orthopedic surgery to tackle. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us save this precious boy's life!

Norman Fan Update:

Wow, did we get a special surprise today during our adoption event at the Carrollwood Petco! Our very special boy Norman popped in to say Hi to the very special people who saved him, and to wish the kitties well that were up looking for their forevers 😻

Norman continues to be with his special needs foster Momma Annette, who has been doing such a great job with this fella. He is doing wonderful! Norman’s feeding tube was removed this past Tuesday, and he is excited to finally be able to taste his food. His medication therapy is becoming reduced, which is a PAWsome sign in his recovery. Every day Norman is getting better and stronger.

We will continue to share Norman’s YouCaring fundraiser as we are still in need of funds for this guy. He has weekly visits with his medical professionals, and we still have a ways to go in covering his 10-day stay in critical care, the stay that actually saved Norman’s life.

Thank you to everyone who supported Norman, not only financially, but in your thoughts and hearts as well. We are blessed to have such an awesome support network ❤️❤️❤️
