The Story

Norman is in desperate need of our help. He was found on the side of I-275 2 weeks ago and brought to our county shelter. Radiographs revealed he had a luxating hip injury. Norman ended up on the euthanasia list, and a wonderful man adopted him to save his life, with the intent to take care of his medical needs and then adopt him on his own. Norman became very sick with a severe upper respiratory infection, with possible underlying issues. He has been getting overnight care at Tampa Bay Veterinary Emergency Services and day care at Animal Health Center of Humane Society of Tampa Bay.  The stress of the constant transporting back and forth is making it even more difficult for Norman to respond to treatment.  Norman's adopter has asked for our help, so we will be taking over his care today.

Norman will be going to VCA Carrollwood Cats today to see if they can get him turned around and identify any underlying issues. If they feel it's necessary, he will then be transferred to Blue Pearl for 24 hour intensive care

Please help us help Norman! Any donation will go directly to his care. No amount is too small.

Our spunky boy, Norman, continues to amaze. His anemia is almost gone and he’s been taken off his main med! He gained 2 lbs in 10 days too! Norman’s ribs no longer stick out, and after a feeding he even has a little tummy. It’s too early to say he is completely out of the woods, but he sure looks and acts like he’s a-ok. Here he is asking, “do you have any kibble for me?” 😻

Look who gained 2 lbs in 10 days! We’re so pleased with Norman’s progress. He may even be taken off all meds as soon as two weeks from now.

Norman enjoyed his field trip today and all the attention he got from so many ladies. Norman’s strength and curiosity continues to grow. He’s able to groom himself more so he also gets handsomer every day!

Pleaee continue to share his findraiser and thank you all who have donated and shared already and made it possible for us to save this precious boy!

Update for our Norman Fans, Friday, Feb 16th:

Our guy continues to make marked improvements and he is more active everyday. He had his follow-up lab work this past Monday which showed some regenerative anemia and his liver values are still a little higher than normal but improving. Norman gained .6 lbs from his discharge on Saturday and he is eating wonderfully on his own. WhooHoo!!

Norman will be continuing his treatment in his rehabilitative foster home, with weekly checks at Carrollwood Cats. He remains on several medications and will keep his esophageal feeding tube in for medication administration, and until he is out of the woods completely.

From the bottom of our hearts, and from Norman, we thank all of our supporters. Norman was held in the hearts of many and we all helped together to get this handsome fella the help he needed. We still have medical costs from his critical care period and there will be ongoing medical care as he progresses through his rehabilitation. So we ask you to please continue to share Norman’s fundraiser 🙏
