Posted on July 30, 2017So it is now the end of July and I'm still in Salt Lake City, UT recovering from my bone marrow transplant in February. Normally by now, a transplant patient would be home, but not me... no no no! My case was a bit different from most. I have been dealing with GVH (graph vs. host) and am still needing to be monitored by the transplant team. They have been taking good care of me and I am slowly but surely making progress in the right direction. I have been taking several different medicines, one of which is a new drug called Jakifi. The doctors feel that this medicine will be a crucial part of my recovery. While my insurance has been wonderful at covering a great deal of my medical expenses, it was reluctant to cover this medicine at first. They have since then started to cover some of the cost of this medicine, but not all of it. I am hoping that I don't have to be on this medicine for too long, but if it is a means to keeping my cancer in remission, then I will be on it as long as I need to. I am so very grateful to all of you for all the thought, prayers and donations that I have already received! I am asking for you to keep the thought and prayers coming, and if you have some spare change you would like to donate to me, then I would be very appreciative of that too!
All my love,

Posted on February 13, 2017Thank you so much for visiting my page! It means so much to me to know that I am still in your thoughts and prayers!!!!! I'm getting ready for my bone marrow transplant on Tuesday, February 14th. It's not exactly a conventional Valentines Day, but then again, nothing about my situation is conventional so I'm sure you would expect nothing less from me! I am currently in Salt Lake City and will be for the next 4-5 months. It stinks being so far away from my home in Boise, but I am determined to get through this and I am so thankful that I have you in my corner and so very grateful for your donation and prayers!!!!
