This is a Stand a Chance Foundation in creation process based upon one woman’s personal journey of learning to own her condition, a life with Arachnoiditis, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, and a multitude of other complications and diagnoses. She was approaching the height of her career when she received a spinal cord injury at the hands of undeniable and torturous medical harm and negligence that left her suffering horrifically and robbed her of time.Through her journey, Melanie has become an administrator of a global support group for Arachnoiditis, and a Delegate representing the International Pain Foundation. She has become an admired an inspirational leader through sharing her journey and treatment program, assisting patients and their loved ones, and sharing countless hours of research. Below are a few of the outreach division and programs Stand a Chance will offer.

These programs will empower and equip patients with the necessary armor and tools required to adapt, improvise, overcome, and own their condition.
Production and Publishing Division
This project is the beginning of extensive travels and Documentaries in Progress of gathering patient, caregiver/family, and related testimonials and the ongoing research that will be added to our documentary series.
Other outreach divisions and programs to be offered through the Stand a Chance Foundation will include a Community Outreach Division providing animal assisted visits to nursing homes, chronically/terminally ill, and hospice care facilities through Melanie’s Forget Me Not Program. This division will also provide animal assisted awareness and education programs to schools designed by Melanie early on in her career.
It takes support to get a foundation of this magnitude and nature up and running. The impact, need, and statistics demonstrate that a necessary call to action is indeed required. Melanie is determined to see this through, and generate a legacy that serves as a vessel for others to make a difference by being the change in the world that is so desperately needed.
